Stone Cults

Outside the recognized authority of the Magi and the lonesome Wodin of the world, there are the Stone Cults. This is a blanket term for “non-orthodox” schools of magical thought concerning the Stone. They often operate in secret since scuffles between the Magi and these Cults can turn into all-out battles. Stephen tappin One stone cult notable because of it’s publicity is the Order of the Crow ( Zhemeda Toor ) in Zhûrasca. They travel the deserts in small groups practicing their rights and rituals. At times, they are looked to as preachers or judges. In other villages and cities they are barely tolerated, thought of as ill-portents. They are similar in this respect to the Blood Circle of Utsjubai – an equally mistrusted group of druids that inhabit the misty hills outside Una.

In the Empire there is the Brackenwood Coven – a collection of wild women that convene in the dark wood to divine the future and, if local legends are to be believed, sell curses and steal babies in the night. Additionally there are the Windpriests: hermetic men and women who eek out an ascetic life on the coastline of Corra Bay, collecting shellfish and shifting the tides and storms.
