Not a landmass, but a nation of people spread across the globe. The Sahmu are dark skinned and dark haired. In ancient times, they were indigenous to Southern Zhûrasca, but were pushed out by the superior forces of the their northern neighbors. They still make up a significant portion of the population in southern Zhûrasca. Additionally, they have spread over the last 600 years or so to the costal lands east of Winedark, and the southern regions in and around Auminia.
They are sea-farers and valued merchants and sailors. Highly cosmopolitan, they are a migrant people who make their living less often by plying the land (they tend to harsh, previously unsettled regions) and more to traveling the sea lanes and moving caravans across land. Their settlements are embraced by the Empire (provided they swear fealty to the Throne), but many Zhûrascans considered them a cultural threat.
Since they have no nation of their own, they have no political entity to speak of. Internally, their people speak of a return to their ancestral homeland (just shy of the southern half of Zhûrasca, a place called Engala). They believe this was prophesied by their last king, Ängo, prior to his defeat at the Last Battle (the Skirmish at Crag Coast, according to the Khaja’s record).
